Jim Black is the President of Black and Associates Insurance. Jim started his insurance career with Aetna Life and Casualty in 1985 in Spokane. After completion of their “PRIME” agent development program he went on to establish his first multi-line insurance agency Ploeger and Black Insurance. In 1996 Jim changed the name to James B. Black and Associates Insurance, Inc. Jim manages the overall operation and does most of the commercial insurance. He has a B.S. degree in Business Administration from City University. He is married to Patty and has two children Mollie 20 and James 17.

Janet Carpenter, Personal Lines Agent, joined the Black & Associates Insurance team in 1999 as a Customer Service Representative. In 2002 she got her insurance license and began writing personal lines insurance for the agency. She also assists with customer service work, marketing and customer retention. Janet received her B.S. in Travel & Tourism from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah and her M.A. from BYU in Teaching English as a Second Language in 1985. She brings about 20 years of office experience and 6 years of teaching experience to Black & Associates. Janet has two children, 19 and 16. Originally from Richland, Washington, Janet has lived in North Spokane since 1996.

Judy Bianchi has been with Black & Associates Insurance since February of 2004 as the Customer Service Representative. With over 5 years of experience in the Insurance field she helps both personal lines and commercial customers with a variety of services which include changes, billing, binders and certificates both in our office and over the phone. If you have any questions or concerns regarding your policy/billing Judy is the person to call.
